How Chixito Began
Chixito was born from a homemade recipe, a shared dream, and the courage of two people who chose passion over security. Behind the brand are Nusrin Raouf, a medical coder turned chef, and Raouf Khalid, an mechanical engineer turned entrepreneur, who stood together to make that dream real.
Together, they believed that the taste of their home-cooked fried chicken deserved to reach a wider audience.
To turn that dream into reality, Raouf gave up his profession, and the couple took the bold step of leaving behind the safety of their jobs. With their livelihood at risk, they started a small cloud kitchen, where his wife prepared the food and Raouf personally handled deliveries.
The beginning was not easy. With almost no income and only negligible daily orders, survival itself was a challenge. But slowly, things began to change. As more people tasted their food, word of mouth started spreading. Customers praised the quality, taste, and homemade touch behind every meal.
Within just six months, Chixito completed 4,000+ orders and received 3,600+ feedback responses, filled with positive and heartwarming reviews. That support gave them the confidence to open their first outlet in Guruvayur, the prestigious multi-cultural town of South India.
Though the journey continued to bring struggles and setbacks, strong customer support, especially on digital platforms, helped them recover quickly and grow into one of the leading fried chicken brands in the region, with 10K+ followers on Instagram.
Chixito later expanded with its second outlet at Kayalkayak, Kunduvaakadavu, a lakeside leisure park near Chavakkad on the scenic coastline of Kerala.
